Marketing Tips to Make Your Product Be in High Demand

Businesses are beginning to rediscover and see the need for effective marketing. Many businesses are finding it difficult to generate sales because their owners or the marketing team no longer have the marketing-skills needed to make their product be in high demand.
Most often, we hear people in the business industry asking questions like, how can I effectively sell my products? Will customers engage in the customer journey? Some even going ahead to complaining; I have done everything humanly possible, why are customers not buying my products? Mr A and I started selling the same thing but how come he has sold more than I have? This is where we get it all wrong. The first thing to know about marketing your products is that it has to be an intentional process.
As product owner especially start-up businesses, you can’t just sit in your house or place of work and expect customers to run to you. You have to engage some certain processes for your product to be in high demand.
In this article, we will be sharing a few marketing tips to make your product be in high demand.

Let's Dive Right Into the 4 Steps

1. Meet customers’ needs

Now this looks pretty simple right? But there are lot of business owners who launch a product into the market without knowing if it meets a customer’s needs. For a customer to want your product, he/she needs to have a need for it. Now imagine no one needs your products, who will buy the products. A marketable product proffers solution to the problem of customers because customers don’t just need new stuff they need helpful stuff.

2. Engage in storytelling.

You will honestly be surprised at how interested people are with the right and intriguing story. Be genuine and catch their attention. Don’t just come out to tell them that they should buy your product rather share a story of how your product have solved the problem of people, if it’s a new product tell them how it intend to solve their problem.
The most important step in storytelling is choosing the right story to tell. You don’t want to end up telling a story that does the opposite of what you want it to do. When using storytelling to sell your products you should consider the following factors:
What do you want your audience to think at the end of the story?

  • What exactly is the moral lesson of your story and how relevant is it to your product.
  • What is the climax of your story? Every good story must have a climax and it must not necessarily be emotional but there should be a feel that come with it whether happy or sad.
  • Start with simple engaging stories like the inspiration behind starting the business, about the founders of the business etc.

3. Advertising

Every business owner knows that to get more customers you must carry out adverts. But how many really do this? Advertising is seen as any paid form of non-personal presentation and promotion of ideas, goods or services by an identified sponsor. Advertising is positive reinforcement on getting your products out there. Create a good jingle that your customers can never forget. Make sure your adverts are original and creative. Advertising does the following;

  • Provides information to the customers.
  • Persuades customers to purchase.
  • Get more sales.
  • Build a customer base.

Make sure that the adverts you put out is doing any or all of the listed factors above. Creating a great advert gives a good representation of your brand.

4. Gain a competitive advantage

Every business has a competition so you need to stand out from your competition in other to have sales. Research and find out everything you need to know about your competition and use them to your advantage. Your differences should stand out in your adverts!

These tips can only be helpful if you are willing to put yourself and your products out there. Don’t forget products don’t just sell themselves you have to be intentional about the process.
